About Me
Alice Campbell
- Founder of Equine Expression

Having loved horses for most of my life, I was fortunate enough to start a journey that led me to discover equine behavioural science. I became fascinated with these stunning creatures: how they move, interact with the world around them, and learn incredibly quickly. The more I started to watch them and learnt about their behaviours, the more I was left in awe of their remarkable abilities yet gentle nature. I hope to inspire a deeper understanding and connection with these creatures.
Read on below to find out more about my approach to training, mission, values, and qualifications.
My Approach
At Equine Expression, I am dedicated to applying evidence-based behaviour modifications and training strategies to help you and your horse have a sustainable and thriving relationship. My methods are holistic and focus on many factors influencing behaviour so I accurately interpret where issues arise and create appropriate interventions and training plans for humans and horses. I follow the guidance set out by the Least Invasive Minimally Aversive (LIMA) Framework and aim to promote positive experiences and emotional states to improve welfare and foster a stronger bond between you and your equine companion. I ensure my strategies are clearly communicated to both horse and client and seek to create harmonious human-horse relationships based on mutual understanding, patience, and kindness.
Mission
My mission is to acknowledge horses as a vital part of societies past, present and future, while exploring the ethics of their current uses and roles in communities. I aim to establish higher welfare and safety standards in the industry by furthering evidence-based education amongst equestrians from all backgrounds. Furthermore, I seek to promote handling, training and teaching methods centred around the needs of both horses and people, where they are treated with compassion, dignity and admiration so human-horse relationships can thrive.
Vision
I hope one day the equine industry can be united by its love and admiration for horses. Where there is a culture based on integrity and transparency that seeks to match its words with meaningful actions. That our own agendas and egos take a backseat while we learn to accept horses as the beautiful, unique, and simple, yet complex creatures they are. Only then can we achieve pure, unbiased, and thriving human-horse relations that will lead to a sustainable industry.
Training Priniples
Training Principles form the solid foundations when working with horses and ensure a clear focus and understanding of how you aim to work when training horses or supporting clients.
